The Worth House Added August 23, 01
These photos show the rear of my second quarter scale house. It is the Lankford kit. I have renamed it after the sweet lady who gave it to me. Her name was Helen Worth. Helen was a wonderful miniaturist, who tried (and usually suceeded) to make minatures every day. Her motto was "It's Worth It!" I have to say that I agree wholeheartedly. She gave me this kit as an exchange present for Christmas. Our club the Mini Dreamers have an annual exchange and she had drawn my name. Prior to our actual party, she was hospitalized and so had some fellow club members to retrieve this from her workroom for her. She died a week before the party. It was a truly wonderful thing for her to remember me even when she was so sick. I was very deeply touched by both her remembering and her generousity, as this was a very expensive exchange gift.
In the photos above, you can see on the top floor on the left will be the master bedroom, then the bathroom and hall, then a nursery on the right. The lower floor has the living room on the left, then the dining room and the kitchen on the right.
In these photos, you can see a little better the hand painted walls of the nursery. The photos relate to their position left side, middle and rightside. These photos really aren't as good as I'd like, but maybe you can get some idea of the design, which I borrowed from a magazine.
